V – Vision ​
​Comfort is a dangerous feeling for those of us building businesses.

Comfort can lead to complacency quickly.

Complacency can lead to irrelevance quickly.

Comfort = Irrelevance.

It takes one hungry and motivated competitor to turn your comfort into their competitive advantage.

A – Action ​
​Write down one area of your business that's gotten a little too comfortable over the years.

Perhaps it's your offer or the way you present your company.

Ask yourself, "If someone tried to disrupt my business tomorrow, what exactly would they do differently?"

Write down the things that someone would do if they wanted to disrupt your business. Determine if they are things that you need to do proactively.

L – Lesson ​
​I interviewed numerous people before starting Diffactory a decade ago. One of them was a franchisee who has done very well in the world and continues to do well. They told me one thing that I share with all my mentees:

"Stay close to the money."

Even though you may hire experts to help you, nobody will care about your money and your finances as much as you will.

​E – Endurance​
​The last triathlon I did was the longest one I've ever done. I learned a great deal about myself during the 13.1-mile run/walk part of the race.

I linked up with some runners during the race who helped me push through when I wanted to take a break. I'm honestly not sure I would've made it without them. We pushed each other, and it made a massive impact on me.

Having the right people around you can make you way more capable than you thought.
