Being a business owner means dealing with more stuff than someone who isn't. We sign up for a higher degree of complexity when we decide to be the stewards of a business. In my work, I help many owners with the mental aspect of business ownership. Most of them already know what to do on a daily basis. What they need help with is the game between their two ears. The voice that wants to sabotage things when they're going great, or ignore the hard things when they appear. What I tell them is simple and direct: We just have to deal with it. Nobody is coming to save us. But when I zoom out, I notice that applies to everyone, not just business owners. Nobody is coming to save any of us from the thing we're avoiding this day/week/month. We just have to deal with it. So what are you dealing with today? If you've got a handle on it, good. If not, hit reply. Maybe I can point you in the right direction. Have a blessed weekend. -Kevin Oldham |
